I am Shira, the maker behind m a d e . I have always been a creative, whether I was dancing, crafting, writing, collaging, painting or even decorating my home. I have an autoimmune disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis to be more specific, it is like being in a constant state of reinvention. What worked yesterday, may not work today. It is not always easy, especially when you are in pain, but the trick is to not be discouraged and to look at it as an opportunity to try something new.

In 2018 I started to explore fiber art, making a few pieces for our home, that I loved. So when the pandemic started in early 2020, I dove in even deeper and created an original collection of about 10 pieces. I am deeply inspired by music, nature and travel, especially my time spent on the Mediterranean, in particular my deep connection with the Greek Islands. Their complex yet simplistic nature endlessly inspires. I love that with art the possibilities are endless and so is the interpretation.  With much encouragement from my husband, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and offer my art for sale.
